Jez Proctor - Ancient Future Percussion Exclusive mix
Today I bring you the newest exclusive mix for Talking in Stereo from former Horselatitides' contributer and innersounds' Jez Proctor. He does a really good job stepping out of the norm and selecting old and new tracks that flow together with a very interesting vibe.
Jez Proctor - Ancient - Future Percussion
Here is his bio and what Jez says about the mix:
Growing up in a house that was most definitely not filled with music I can still remember my first trip to a record store.I was staying at a friend’s house and his Mum was taking us. We could buy one 7 inch each. He got Whitney and I got Europe’s Final Countdown….or maybe it was the other way around?
Either way that afternoon and evening was spent air keyboarding around his living room and singing to his dog that we both just wanna dance with somebody.Fast forward a couple of decades and I’ve been clean of bad rock and bad hair for a few years now. I checked out a musical health spa called the Loft a few times, read the scriptures about the Garage, the Music Box, and took my turn on the dance floors of a few different clubs at epic times. My love for the 4/4 beat has never been as strong as my love of balls out percussion.
This mix brings together a few favourites. From Gene Krupa and the jazz halls to Trevor Jackson dubs and some sweetly programmed hi-hats. Percussion - be it old or new - is where this mix is at and I hope you enjoy the ride.
Shake it!

Jonny 5 - Sunrise over Hackney Mixx- Talking in Stereo Exclusive Mix
Here is the 4th exclusive mix for Talking in Stereo. I have reached out to DJ's and music collectors that have inspired me asking for exclusive mixes.
Jonny 5 from the UK has stepped up to the plate with a winding mix that takes you on a journey through sonically baked jams, landing lightly on terrestial ground. Jonny first came to my attention through his decompression mix on CBS. Here is what Jonny says about the mix "it's a mix in honour of a few lost weekends spent watching the sunrise from balconies of blocks of flats in the Hackney area of London."
Jonny 5 - Sunrise over Hackney Mixx
Bio -Jonny 5 is a member of the GAK Foundation, who can be found DJing at various seedy parties around London into the small hours of the morning. He can also be heard sometimes on the Cybernetic Broadcasting System. His next gig is in Montreal on 6th July at Loose Joints.
Upcoming Exclusive mixes from: Moonboots, Codebreaker, and Rob and Zoopsie.

Chris Keyz plays Crosstown Freebeards Jazzbeats & Jailbirds
I am proud to announce the third exclusive mix for Talking in Stereo. It comes from a great DJ and audio blogger out of South Africa, Chris Keyz.
Chris runs one of the best audio blogs on the net called Another Night on Earth. His Blog has just reached 50,000 visits due to his intriguing and discerning collection of re-edits and exclusives that Chris posts and writes about. If someone would have told me 6 months ago I would be hosting a mix from a DJ almost half way across the world I would have said they were crazy. Now on to the music.
I want to thank Chris again for the opportunity and his effort involved. Look out for pt 2 coming soon!

Across the Sea
From 2002's Jepte Guillaume and the Tet Kale Orkestra's "Voyage of Dreams."
Jepte link contaisn multiple files
Description:
Jephte Guillaume - Voyage of Dreams
The latest release from Haitian beatmixer/vocalist/bassist/acoustic guitarist Jephthe Guillaume, a double CD entitled Voyage Of Dreams takes the sounds of Haitian rara and carnival music and certain Latin conventions and tosses the salad on the club dance-floor. As a result Jephthe is probably the most high-profile Haitian musical performer in the world today. While there must be incredible pressure to conform to the pressures of the market, Voyage Of Dreams evinces a helluva lot more heart and soul than many similar recordings in the genre.
Using the club cliché-beat as a heartbeat around which to introduce real percussion, and augmenting electronic keyboards with instruments such as flute, piano and brass instruments he has avoided much of the predictable sterility which afflicts clubland. There are many points of genuine performance here with lovely piano and flute interplay as well as Brazilian and rara beats. The compositions tend to build up a genuine head of steam as if a real performance were happening (which I suppose is). As an added bonus several vocalists and percussionists from the brilliant rara-pop group Boukman Eksperyans add a serious dose of reality. If you can get past the new-age gobbledy gook in the web-biography you might find that Voyage Of Dreams offers more than you think. RJ July 2003
